We worship on Sunday at 10:00 am and we hope you
will join us. We offer a warm welcome to all visitors. There is free Parking around the church. A Nursery is provided for infants and toddlers. After a time in the
worship service especially for them, children join their teachers for
Sunday School. The church office is normally open weekdays from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, and the minister is normally in the office Tuesday to Friday. If there is anything we can do to help, please call or feel free to drop in. |

It was a wonderful experience to hear the Momentum Choir perform during worship at Fonthill United Church on February 12, 2012. The service was co sponsored with Fenwick United and hosted by the choirs from both churches. The church was full and the choir inspired the congregation with its enthusiasm and spirit. Many people commented that they struggled to keep their tears back. When the minister who led the service, Rev Garry van Bruchem was asked by a reporter why that was, he replied, “That’s God’s way of telling us to pay attention because something beautiful is happening here.”
The sermon was about the story of Jesus touching the leper and making him clean so that he could make friends. The minister said that the Momentum Choir was doing just what Jesus did: touching the hearts of many people and helping them to make friends. “That makes God happy,” he said, “and you can bet that people will be talking about this day for a long time.” When it came time to receive the offering, the Rev van Bruchem said that “one way we get to participate in what God is doing in the world is through our offerings.” On the spur of the moment he told the congregation that, although he might get in trouble with his finance committee, he would suggest that all the loose offering received that morning be given to the Momentum Choir to help them with their expenses. People scrambled for their wallets and purses as the offering plates came around and gave $828.00 to the choir. The Momentum Choir was established in the Niagara Region in 2007, through the vision of Executive and Artistic Director Mendelt D. Hoekstra, with the assistance of Bethesda Community Services and a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation. It is a registered charitable organization and operates under the guidance of a Board of Directors. Momentum’s mission is to provide an authentic musical experience in which the gifts of unique artists can be professionally nurtured, and through which the artists can be given the opportunity to belong, believe and inspire. From the QEW west:
Follow QEW to Victoria Avenue and go south to Regional Road 20. Go east
until you come to Fonthill. The church is on the South side of the
road, on the right.
From the 406:
Follow the 406 south from St Catharines or north from Welland to
Regional Road 20. Go west into Fonthill. The church is at the top
of the hill on the South side of the road, on the left.
